Missing Authorization in BetterDocs Plugin for WordPress
CVE-2026-6393

4.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-6393?

The BetterDocs plugin for WordPress suffers from a missing authorization issue that affects versions up to and including 4.3.11. The problem exists in the generate_openai_content_callback() function, which does not adequately check user permissions. Instead, it relies solely on a nonce for security. This flaw enables authenticated attackers with subscriber-level permissions or higher to exploit the site's OpenAI API integration, making unauthorized API calls with arbitrary prompts. Consequently, this can lead to the depletion of the site's paid API quota without the owner’s consent.
