What is CVE-2026-78006?

The Events Calendar plugin for WordPress has a vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code on the server. This is made possible due to inadequate protection in the is_safe_widget_instance function. The exploitation occurs when PHP's magic methods are triggered, allowing attackers to manipulate wp_hash integrity attributes without requiring authentication. Specifically, this vulnerability is effective when comments are enabled on events, allowing injected block markup to bypass moderation and run through sensitive code paths.
