What is CVE-2026-80517?
The WP Ultimate CSV Importer plugin for WordPress prior to version 9.2 features a significant security flaw. This vulnerability arises from inadequate validation of file types within uploaded archives, coupled with a failure to sanitize their content before storing them in publicly accessible directories. Due to this oversight, users with elevated privileges, such as administrators, could exploit the vulnerability to perform stored cross-site scripting attacks. In particular, on Multisite installations, site administrators lack the unfiltered_html capability, allowing potential execution of scripts in the sessions of any users who view the malicious file, including Network Super Admins. This poses a serious risk to user security and the integrity of the WordPress installation.
