What is CVE-2026-81650?
The Photo Gallery, Sliders, and Proofing WordPress plugin prior to version 4.5.0 contains a significant flaw in its handling of file extensions from uploaded archives. A programming oversight, where a loop counter variable is reused, causes the file extension check to always succeed. This vulnerability enables users with gallery-management capabilities—assigned by administrators—to upload arbitrary files to a web-accessible directory. On systems capable of executing the uploaded files, an attacker could potentially run arbitrary code, posing a severe threat to website security.

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
