What is CVE-2026-81766?

The Really Simple Security WordPress plugin, prior to version 9.8.0, allows administrators of subsites within a multisite network to execute arbitrary code. This is due to the absence of checks ensuring that the user is permitted to install the plugin, which compromises the security of the directory that is typically reserved for the network administrator. This vulnerability mandates that the network administrator has enabled the administration menu for the Really Simple Security plugin for subsites, a setting that is not enabled by default.

Affected Version(s)

Really Simple Security 0 < 9.8.0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
