What is CVE-2026-8422?

The Remove Meta Boxes Per User Role plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to perform Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. This vulnerability arises from inadequate nonce validation on the settings page of the plugin, enabling malicious users to manipulate the visibility settings of meta boxes for different user roles. An attacker must deceive a site administrator into clicking a crafted link, triggering unauthorized changes to the plugin's configuration.
