What is CVE-2026-85677?
The Gutenverse News plugin for WordPress versions prior to 3.3.3 allows attackers to inject arbitrary JavaScript into the comment section. This vulnerability arises from improper sanitization of extra HTML elements, which can enable unauthenticated users to submit malicious comments that will execute within the browser context of any administrator reviewing the comment queue. Once approved, this injected JavaScript can further impact visitors, compromising the security of the entire site.
