What is CVE-2026-85683?

The Jane Menu WordPress plugin prior to version 1.5.1 lacks proper capability and nonce checks in one of its form handlers. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated users to bind any published page to a remote document of their choice. Once bound, the plugin retrieves this document and injects its head and body directly into the page without escaping, leading to the execution of arbitrary JavaScript in the browsers of visitors, including administrators. This exposes users to potential malicious scripts and compromises site security.

Affected Version(s)

Jane Menu 0 < 1.5.1

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
