Insufficient Data Authenticity Verification in Event Management Plugin for WordPress by Event Monster
CVE-2026-8608

5.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-8608?

The Event Monster plugin for WordPress is prone to an issue where client-supplied payment data, including transaction ID, amount, and payment status, is trusted without adequate server-side verification. Specifically, the capture_payment() AJAX handler fails to validate this data against the PayPal API or any other payment processors, increasing the risk of unauthorized access to payment systems. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can maliciously create payment records, mark bookings as completed, and receive confirmation emails with valid QR code tickets, all without making legitimate payments.

Affected Version(s)
