What is CVE-2026-86788?

The HT Mega Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress, prior to version 3.2.6, contains a security flaw where it fails to validate the HTML tag names used in various widgets and blocks. This oversight allows users with contributor-level access and above to inject crafted HTML tag names that can execute arbitrary JavaScript when the content is rendered. This poses a threat, particularly to higher-privileged users who may inadvertently trigger the malicious script while reviewing or publishing the content.

Affected Version(s)

HT Mega Addons for Elementor 3.2.0 < 3.2.6

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
