What is CVE-2026-86824?

The Newsletter WordPress plugin prior to version 9.3.8 has a critical flaw in its email tracking mechanism due to inadequate entropy used for generating the signing key. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to exploit the poorly secured tracking links. By recovering the signing key offline, attackers can forge these links, gaining unauthorized access to any subscriber's session token. This breach enables them to read and potentially modify sensitive personal data stored for each subscriber, leading to severe data privacy risks.

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
