What is CVE-2026-8688?

The Advanced Nav Menu Manager plugin for WordPress has been identified as being vulnerable due to an authorization bypass flaw present in all versions up to and including 1.3. This lack of proper user authorization verification allows authenticated attackers, starting from the subscriber level, to manipulate navigation menu items. Specifically, attackers can duplicate, move, or publish nav_menu_item posts through the wp_insert_post() function, potentially compromising the site's navigation structure without adequate permission.
