What is CVE-2026-8698?

The Cryptocurrency Prijsvergelijking Widget plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to inadequate output escaping in the as_get_coin_shortcode() function. This vulnerability allows attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary HTML attributes into an tag. By supplying a crafted 'width' or 'height' shortcode attribute, they can execute malicious scripts on pages viewed by users, potentially compromising site security and user data.
