What is CVE-2026-87668?

A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the diagnostic execution utility of Brocade Fabric OS. This issue arises from the utility improperly handling user-supplied input while processing command arguments for diagnostic tasks. It does not enforce boundary checks on the maximum capacity of the internal argument array. An authenticated user with administrative privileges can exploit this flaw by providing a specially crafted diagnostic command string that exceeds the expected argument count, potentially leading to a memory overwrite. This can result in denial of service, causing the utility process to crash.
