What is CVE-2026-87683?

Multiple stack-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities have been identified in the REST API management component of Brocade Fabric OS, found in versions prior to 10.0.1. This vulnerability arises when the REST API service fails to validate incoming array counts and string lengths correctly, leading to improper handling of oversized request parameters. An authenticated attacker with access to the REST API can leverage this flaw by sending crafted API requests, which may result in memory corruption and potentially allow for a denial-of-service condition or arbitrary code execution within the management process. Immediate attention to updating to the latest version is required to mitigate these risks.
