What is CVE-2026-87828?

The Seraphinite Accelerator plugin for WordPress fails to adequately validate permissions during state-update AJAX actions. This oversight allows authenticated users, including those with minimal privileges such as subscribers, to inject malformed data. Such actions can trigger unhandled errors on the admin panel, leading to a scenario where all administrators are locked out of the administration area. This results in a denial of service, significantly impacting site management and functionality for all users.

Affected Version(s)

Seraphinite Accelerator 0 < 2.29.24

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
