Remote Code Execution Flaw in WPCode WordPress Plugin
CVE-2026-8832

8.8HIGH

What is CVE-2026-8832?

The WPCode plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a remote code execution vulnerability affecting versions up to 2.3.5. This vulnerability arises due to the improper registration of the 'wpcode' custom post type without specific capability restrictions, allowing authenticated users, with author-level access or higher, to create and publish harmful PHP snippets through the XML-RPC interface. When these snippets are executed via the [wpcode] shortcode, they are processed server-side, which can lead to arbitrary code execution on the server.

Affected Version(s)

WPCode – Insert Headers and Footers + Custom Code Snippets – WordPress Code Manager 0 <= 2.3.5
