What is CVE-2026-8866?

The jQuery GoogleSlides plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability that arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in its 'googleslides' shortcode. This flaw affects all versions up to and including 1.3. Attackers with contributor-level access can exploit this vulnerability by injecting malicious scripts through various user-supplied attributes (such as userid, albumid, authkey, and others). These scripts get executed on the injected pages whenever accessed by users, potentially compromising their security.
