What is CVE-2026-89138?

The Filter Gallery plugin for WordPress is susceptible to an authorization bypass that affects all versions up to, and including, 1.1.4. Due to inadequate validation of user permissions, authenticated users with subscriber-level access and higher can overwrite titles and content of any WordPress posts. They can also manipulate the wp_attachment_image_alt meta key on arbitrary posts and create or alter ufg_gallery* options, posing a significant risk to site integrity and data management.
