What is CVE-2026-92977?

The Real Cookie Banner plugin for WordPress is prone to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This issue affects all versions up to and including 5.3.5. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary web scripts within comments. Malicious scripts can be included in the title attribute of anchor tags, bypassing WordPress's comment moderation processes. These scripts may execute when a user visits the affected page, presenting a significant risk to site integrity and user safety.
