What is CVE-2026-94053?

The Apache MINA SSHD library, which facilitates SSH functionalities, contains a vulnerability in its sshd-ldap component. This issue arises from a lack of proper escaping of LDAP filter metacharacters. As a result, attackers can bypass authentication protocols by exploiting the vulnerable configuration and authenticating with arbitrary credentials, specifically using the username '' and password ''. This vulnerability affects installations of Apache MINA SSHD that utilize the sshd-ldap component for integrating with LDAP servers for authentication purposes. To mitigate this issue, users are advised to upgrade to Apache MINA SSHD versions 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which address the vulnerability by correctly escaping LDAP filter parameters in compliance with RFC 4515.
