What is CVE-2026-96278?

The WP Photo Album Plus plugin for WordPress suffers from a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. Unauthenticated attackers can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages accessed by users, leading to potential exploitation. The root cause of the vulnerability is the failure of esc_url_raw() to adequately filter HTML entities, allowing them to be converted back to executable HTML tags by wppaEntityDecode() during rendering. This poses significant risks as it can enable attackers to manipulate web content and compromise user interactions.
