What is CVE-2026-97338?

The Download Manager plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the Display Name field. This vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 3.3.70. Authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and higher can exploit this flaw to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. The risk is heightened when the [wpdm_edit_profile] shortcode is included on accessible pages, allowing these attackers to create malicious payloads that execute when other users visit these injected pages.
