What is CVE-2020-29529?

The HashiCorp go-slug product, prior to version 0.5.0, is susceptible to a directory traversal vulnerability due to inadequate protection mechanisms during the unpacking of tar archives. This flaw allows attackers to exploit specific constructions of multiple symlinks to bypass existing security measures. Users of versions up to 0.4.3 should upgrade to the latest version to mitigate risks associated with this vulnerability.
