What is CVE-2026-5052?

The PKI engine in HashiCorp Vault has a vulnerability where the ACME validation process fails to correctly reject local targets when issuing http-01 and tls-alpn-01 challenges. This oversight allows the ACME requests to be unintentionally sent to local network targets, which could potentially expose sensitive information to attackers. This vulnerability has been addressed in several versions of Vault, including the Vault Community Edition and Vault Enterprise.
